Vanime Review

Eighty Six" is a must-watch anime. The animation is fantastic, and the character design is really impressive. The voice artists have done a fine job, bringing life and emotion to the characters. The storyline is a true gem. The plot revolves around the Republic of San Magnolia, which is engaged in a war with its neighboring country, the Empire of Giad. Both sides use unmanned drones to conduct a "war without casualties." The story follows Lena as she commands a squad of these drones known as the 86. However, as the plot unfolds, Lena discovers a dark truth: the drones are actually manned by people, called the 86, who are treated as mere tools in the war. "Eighty Six" skillfully portrays two sides of the conflict: one from Lena's perspective and the other from the viewpoint of the 86 soldiers. The anime vividly depicts the harsh realities of war, the destruction it causes, and the toll it takes on human lives. It delivers a powerful message about the value of human life and the importance of treating each other with respect and empathy. Overall, "Eighty Six" is a thought-provoking and emotionally impactful anime that sheds light on the dehumanizing aspects of war. It serves as a reminder that we are all human beings, not machines or tools to be used by those in power.
