Vanime Review

The Garden of Words" remains one of Makoto Shinkai's best works to date. The animation is truly amazing and charismatic. The depiction of the monsoon season is beautifully and perfectly captured in this movie. The raindrops falling in the ponds and creating water ripples, the lush greenery of the park in the city, and the branches of the little tree leaning over the pond with leaves dripping water all add to the breathtaking scenery. The way the sky becomes grey and filled with clouds, and the trains traveling, are also beautifully depicted. The character designs, especially their reflections and shadows, are beautifully created. The storyline revolves around two people, Yukino and Takao, who meet in the garden. Both of them are lonely and share feelings of alienation, which brings them close together. They each have their own backstories and life problems that they are trying to escape from. The movie teaches us that love knows no boundaries and is the purest feeling in the world. As the characters' stories unfold, there are heartwarming moments that we can all relate to. It emphasizes the importance of communication, sharing, and solving each other's problems. "The Garden of Words" is a must-watch for its captivating animation, touching story, and profound messages about love and human connection.
